At its REFRAME 2025 conference, Vimeo announced a major overhaul of its platform with a suite of new AI-powered features designed to make professional video production faster and smarter, including an intelligent search for video libraries and expanded support for immersive video on Apple Vision Pro.
Ask your archive: The core of the announcement is a set of features that turn video libraries from digital attics into conversational partners. A new beta tool called “Ask Your Library” lets creators use natural language to find specific moments across their entire collection, while a new protocol allows video libraries to connect directly with external AI agents for custom workflows.
From feedback to funding: To solve the headache of managing client feedback, the company also unveiled a redesigned “Vimeo Review,” which embeds tools like time-stamped commenting directly within Adobe Premiere Pro. The platform is also adding new monetization options through ads and sponsorships, giving creators more tools to build a sustainable business.
Beyond the flat screen: Vimeo is also bolstering its immersive video capabilities by adding hosting for VR180 content and planning to adopt Apple Immersive Video. The move is designed to let creators take their projects seamlessly from capture on Blackmagic cameras, through editing in Final Cut Pro, and straight to distribution on the platform.
Vimeo is making a clear play to position itself as the intelligent, high-end platform for serious video professionals, moving far beyond simple hosting to offer an integrated ecosystem for creation, collaboration, and monetization.
In other news from the event, Vimeo put a spotlight on its creator economy, with the conference featuring Grammy-winner 2 Chainz discussing his film 'Red Clay.' Meanwhile, Vimeo's CEO Philip Moyer teased the company's broader vision for what he calls 'enterprise video 3.0.'
