Kim's leadership saw Netflix's membership grow from 200M to over 300M and the launch of its ads plan.

The exit is part of a broader executive shakeup at Netflix, including a new head of UCAN scripted series.
Netflix’s chief product officer, Eunice Kim, is leaving the company for undisclosed reasons after a five-year tenure, as first reported by Bloomberg. Her departure follows the recent launch of a major redesign of the company's TV experience, and Chief Technology Officer Elizabeth Stone will step in as her interim replacement.
Changing of the guard: Kim joined Netflix in 2021 after leading product teams at Google Play and YouTube for a decade. Her promotion to chief product officer came in 2023, when she took the reins from Greg Peters following his elevation to co-CEO.
Parting praise: Kim noted that during her tenure, the company grew from 200M to over 300M members while launching its ads plan and expanding into live events and games. In a statement, co-CEO Greg Peters credited Kim with heading up the company's latest product overhaul, calling her an "incredibly hardworking, dedicated, and caring leader."
Kim's exit comes at a key moment for Netflix as it pushes beyond its core video-on-demand model. The next product leader will have the critical task of steering the user experience as the company deepens its investment in advertising and live programming. The move comes as Netflix continues its push into new formats like live events, including WWE wrestling. Kim's departure is also part of a broader executive shakeup at the company, which recently named a new head of UCAN scripted series.
